Recycling & Waste
All guests are asked to take their trash, recycling, and compost with them when they check out, as a part of preparing their space for the next guest. We appreciate your care in separating out your waste items into the appropriate receptacles, in order to steward our resources as best we can.
Where does my recycling go?
A collection station for recyclable items is located by the main office. We are able to recycle:
- Paper, newspaper, and brown paper bags
- Corrugated cardboard and boxboard
(not wax- or plastic-coated) - Glass bottles and jars
- Aluminum and steel cans
- Plastics numbered 1-7
- Styrofoam
We appreciate your care in rinsing any food from these items. If you are able, please recycle your plastic bags elsewhere.
Where does my compost go?
Look for the white bucket near the recycling station at the main office and place your green compost bag inside. We are able to compost:
- Vegetable & fruit scraps
- Coffee grounds & eggshells
- Tissues
- Paper towels (no toxic materials)
- Tea bags & paper tea bag pouches
Where does my trash go?
Place trash in the large green Michiana bins by the garage doors at the main office. If it can’t be recycled or composted, it goes in the trash, including:
- Plastic wrap, bags, wrappers, packaging
- Feminine hygiene products
- Laminated paper (wax- or plastic-coated)
